Common questions

The ones I'm asked most about money.

Which insurance plans do you accept?

I'm in-network with Aetna. For other plans, I'm an out-of-network provider — you pay me directly at the time of session and can submit a superbill for partial reimbursement from your plan (if your out-of-network benefits allow). Calling the number on the back of your insurance card is the fastest way to find out what your plan covers.

What is a superbill, and how do I use one?

A superbill is a detailed receipt with the specific codes and diagnoses your insurance needs to process reimbursement. After your session, I send you the superbill — you submit it to your insurance through their portal or by mail. They process it and reimburse you directly (the amount depends on your plan's out-of-network benefits).

How does the sliding scale work?

I reserve a limited number of slots each week at a reduced fee for clients with genuine financial need. There's no formal application — we'll talk about it during the consultation call.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

Under the federal No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a written estimate of expected charges before treatment begins. I provide one for every new self-pay client and update it any time fees or frequency change.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please give at least 24 hours of notice. Sessions canceled with less notice are charged the full fee, unless there's a genuine emergency. Life happens — please reach out and we'll find a way through it together.
